Give-Away : efoods

You might've noticed that it isn't often that I review products.
That is because I like to be 100% certain I can stand behind products I endorse before I put my seal of approval on them.
So, with that said, I was extremely excited when I was approached by eFoodsdirect to review and give-away some of their products.

You may or may not remember that Hurricane Irene surprised us here in central PA by hitting us full force and not only wiping out our electric for days, but flooded our small town and left us stranded. It was literally DAYS before we were able to get in or out of our town and days where we were either left eating peanut butter sandwiches or cooking hotdogs and coffee outside on our grill.

Russ and I swore that we would never allow ourselves to again be put in a situation where we were left feeling so helpless or so unprepared and we started to look into food storage.
Russ did all of the research, looking into many different companies, comparing cost, product, and flexibility for purchases and ultimately decided that efoodsdirect was the company for us.
(which is why I was SO excited to get samples to try and to give away as well :)

What set efoods apart from almost every single company we looked at was their flexibility for purchases. While most other companies advertise that they are "affordable", their packages were anything but affordable, often costing upwards of $3000 for a year's supply for a family of four and not offering any other options. What we liked about efoods was that you can build your supply as you can afford it, meaning if you don't have $3000 just "sitting around", you can simply buy a case or two at a time.

And, I'll admit, efoods does have a 1 Year Family Food Pack that does cost almost $6000, which sounds super pricey, but honestly, knowing how much I pay for my groceries each week, to feed an entire family a nutritious and delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner for that cost for an entire year is actually pretty impressive.

And, that is the key.
The food is tasty.
And nutritious.
And has an amazing shelf-life of 25 years,
which means you can invest your money and literally save this food for a rainy day.
It's food insurance.
There for when you need it.

And trust me, you never think you will,
but then a hurricane, or a snow storm, or tornado,
job loss, illness, or some other unexpected event happens and you will be glad you were ready,

So, today, I have a sampling of 6 efoods meals to give-away.

The package includes:
Cheesy Chicken & Rice Casserole
Creamy Potato Soup
Tortilla Soup

And, I must say, as someone who 99% of the time makes my own food from scratch, I was skeptical that it would pass muster with myself and my family.

It did.

Now, mind you, the potato soup is no where near as awesome as my homemade, but it is definitely WAY better than the stuff you buy in a can ;)

And, it definitely would be better than charred hotdogs over a fire when the lights go out too.

I would love to offer this awesome trial of efoods to one of my readers.
All you need to do to enter to win this is:
Go to and check out what they have to offer.
Then, come back here and tell me what most surprised you about what they have to offer and why you are interested in their products.

That's it :)

If you would like to earn 5 extra entries, please tweet about this give-away.
And, for 5 additional entries, follow efoodsdirect on Facebook.

I will be drawing a winner on July 8th.
(I like to do it old school and put names in a hat and have my 5 year old pick the winner :)

*I was not paid to write this review but I was given a free sample.

  1. Not sure what is more impressive, the selection or the fact that they offer you free samples that are generous! Looks like a great product especially for my kids who have disabilities!
